Dublin Mountain Area Network

Welcome to the Dublin Mountain Area Network website.

This site has been set up to allow you to see all that the Dublin Mountain Area has to offer, so, if you are a family group, a couple out for the day or a corporate group looking for something else to do - we have a lot here to offer you.

Some of the best scenery plays host to some of the most lively venues day or night. So after a day of golf or an afternoon horse trekking you will be able to select one, two or even three of the best public houses any area has to offer.

Getting to us: (Willie Fox's Johnnie Fox's & Glencullen Golf Course)

From the M50 take exit 15 for Kilternan and Leopardstown. At the roundabout take exit for Kilternan onto the Glenamuck road. At the top of this road turn left, and take the 1st turn right at the Topaz garage. Continue on this road for approx 2 ½ miles and Johnnie Foxs Pub will be on the right, Willie Fox's is on the left and continue straight on for The Glencullen Golf Course. (From the City Centre, traffic allowing, journey time is about 25 minutes)

Dublin Airport and North Dublin
Take the M50 southbound. Exit the M50 at Kilternan and Leopardstown (exit no 15). At the roundabout follow the signs for Kilternan (crossing over the M50) onto the Glenamuck road. At the top of this road turn left, and take the 1st turn right at the Topaz garage. Continue on this road for approx 2 ½ miles and Johnnie Foxs Pub will be on the right, Willie Fox's is on the left and continue straight on for The Glencullen Golf Course.  (From the M50 Johnnie Fox's is about 12 minutes, from the Airport Johnnie Fox's is about 45 minutes)

Dun Laoighre (ferry terminal)
Follow the signs for the N11 to Cherrywood (initially going south). Follow the signs for M50 northbound. (From the harbour journey time is about 35 minutes to Johnnie Fox's)

Wicklow (via N11)
Take the N11 northbound onto the M50 northbound. (From the M50 Johnnie Fox's is about 12 minutes)

Moving on to The Paddocks and The Blue Light Pub could not be easier, once you have made it up the mountain and are at the Glencullen crossroads with Willie Fox's on your left and Johnnie Fox's Pub on your right - simply turn right and stay on this road until you meet the one and only T-junction which is signposted for Rathfarnham, turn left here and drive roughly 1 mile and the Paddocks is on your left, continue a further 1/2 mile and the Blue Light is on your left (just take a look to the right though for one of the most impressive views ever).

Alternatively, if you are coming from the Rathfarnahm direction or indeed the M50 and wish to go directly to the Paddocks or Blue Light Pub then the best route is as follows:

From the M50 take the Sandyford exit, cross over the M50 roundabout and up a short incline to a traffic light area, take the right filter lane, turn right and drive to the next set of traffic lights (Lamb's Cross), head straight across and up the Blackglen Road.

From the Blackglen Road, turn off at the back of Lamb Doyle's Pub, follow this road (carefully) without turning off and your first encounter will be the Blue Light Pub on your right.

Continue on a little bit and your next encounter will be The Paddocks Riding Centre.
